Masai Mara National Reserve is the most famous wildlife destination in Kenya. The reserve is set some 260 km southwest of Nairobi. The park covers an area of 1,812 square kilometers. Mara means spotted, it constitutes miles upon miles of savannah grasslands, meandering rivers, swamps, forests and towering escarpments. After a pick-up at 6:00 am from your hotel/airport, you'll begin your tour to Nairobi National Park through the main gate for a 3-hour game drive. Your guide will be aiming to show you as much variety of animals as possible. You'll spot the rhinos and lions getting ready for the morning. Then, you'll head to the elephant orphanage which is only open for a short period each day from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
